8 Wonders of Sherman County

The 8 Wonders of Sherman County was a joint project between the Sherman County Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Sherman County Economic Development Council, and the Goodland Star-News.  Public vote determined the top 8.

1.  Ennis-Handy House, 13th and Center Avenue, Goodland

2.  High Plains Museum, 1717 Cherry, Goodland

3.  Kuhrt Ranch, I-70 Edson exit (#27), drive north to the stop sign on old U.S. 24.  Turn  west for one mile to Sherman County Road 28, and drive 12 miles north on Road 28 to County Road 76.  Turn west and the ranch is 1/2 mile west.

4.  Carnegie Arts Center, 120 W. 12th, Goodland

5.  Van Gogh Painting, facing I-70, east of Cherry Avenue and north of Business U.S. 24, Goodland

6.  Historic Brick Streets, downtown Goodland

7.  Dr. A.C. Gulick's house, 11th and Grand Ave.

8.  Kidder Massacre Site, I-70 Edson exit (#27), to old U.S. 24 and go west about one mile to County Road 28 and turn right (north) and go about 12 miles.  The marker is on the east side of the gravel road just south of Beaver Creek.
