Eric Montgomery

Eric Montgomery currently serves as Chief of Staff to the Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt. Prior to coming to the office, Montgomery served as Chief of Staff to Schmidt in the Kansas Senate Majority Leader's Office from 2005 to 2011.

Before joining Schmidt's Senate staff, Montgomery worked in the communications, graphic design and printing fields.

He is also a former White House photographer who served in the George H. W. Bush administration in the office of Vice President Dan Quayle and whose work can be found in Bush's presidential library in College Station, Tex.

Originally from Caney, Kansas, Montgomery served on the Caney city council and currently is a Caney Community Foundation Board member.

Montgomery has strong ties to rural Kansas as his parents were small business owners in Caney for over 55 years.

Montgomery has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas.
