Does your community need a Child Care Center and you don't know where to start?

This KSF Doalogue will include a tour of the newly-opened Phillipsburg Child Care Center followed by a discussion with child care advocates and providers from around the state who can provide direction. The format is that those wanting to start a child care center or learn best practices will ask questions and advocates in the field will respond.  Topics to be addressed include licensing, building requirements, staffing, training, scholarships, funding, regulations, and more.

In order for young families to find a fit in a rural community, it's imperative that there is a quality child care option for their infant to school-age children. If we are serious about sustaining rural communities by making them appealing to young people, we must look at the challenge of providing fantastic child care.

In a Child Care Center, a cognitive, social, emotional, and physical curriculum is offered. One of the tricks to all this is finding a funding plan that makes it possible to pay for quality teachers and providers.

For your information, see this chart that shows the availability of home day care and child day care centers in each Kansas county.
