KANSTARTER PITCH AND TRAIN - Tuesday, March 10 - 1:00-4:15 p.m. - $10

Kanstarter is an online tool to help you get funds or volunteers for a non-profit project that strengthens your community. See kanstarter.com

1 - 2 p.m. - Start It!

You'll have the chance to pitch your Kanstarter project and get instant approval or useful critique. Presentations should be 3-minutes and then the panel will ask questions.

To prepare, read through these guidelines.

Your presentation could be 1) to tell us about your project and what you've done regarding the guidelines in order to find out if you've done enough to submit online, 2) to see if your idea would qualify for Kanstarter, 3) to ask questions about how to do some of the guideline suggestions or persuade us that you don't need to do all of them.

The panel will be board members. Other community doers and leaders will be in the audience. It's a chance for you to get one-on-one interaction. Every presentation will help the whole group learn together.

Sign up for this on the registration form or contact marci@kansassampler.org.

2-4:15 p.m. - Kanstarter Training
We will help you know how to bring a successful project to Kanstarter and teach you all you need to know to reach your goal through Kanstarter.  To prep for this training, read the guidelines

Whether you are simply curious or if you have a project in mind, this will be a prime time to learn about this awesome online site.

FUN! - March 10 evening - $25 - Bennington
(directions from the conference center)

Join us for wine pairings and BBQ prepared by Chef Grant Wagner. Located in the quaint village of Bennington, just a few minutes north of Salina, we'll enjoy a progressive dinner while exploring and learning about Bennington and meeting the locals.

WE KAN! CONFERENCE - Wednesday, March 11 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - $75

Everything will be about reframing how we do things in rural Kansas. Even how we run the conference will give you ideas.

We'll have break-out sessions and speed-learning sessions.

The presenters will be those among you who have found some solutions, great ideas, or pathways that work.

Look at the topics!

It'll be worth your time and you'll wish you brought more than one person per town because of the many options that take place at the same time.

The event, organized by the Kansas Sampler Foundation, is designed to support grassroots efforts in rural communities. Small town leaders and doers from across the state are encouraged to attend.

Topics feature community development and Explorer tourism issues and are addressed by rural people or advocates with proven solutions or emerging ideas. The PowerUp Movement, showcasing the value of 21-39 year olds who are rural by choice, will be an overarching theme.
